hi, i have a lvl 20 r/mo, but i want to become a trapper in uw
could someone pls tell me what skills i should use and what the best sec proffession is for a trapper there and the number of points in the attributes

Here's the build that I use.

R/E20
Expertise:8 (7+1)
Wilderness Survival: 16 (12+3+1)
Marksmanship:5 (4+1) OR Beast Mastery:4 (Depending on whether i bring Energizing Wind or not, if i have the 5 in Marks they are just leftover points)

Skills
-Rez Sig
-Spirit (The ones you need the most are Energizing Wind and Quickening Zephyr; Edge of Extinction and Winnowing also help)
-Whirling Defense (i usually am the puller, if im not pulling i bring Serpents Quickness)
-Dust Trap
-Spike Trap
-Flame Trap
-Barbed Trap
-Troll Ungent

My trapper build:

R/Me
Expertise: 12+3
Wilderness Survival: 12+1+3

Take a staff that gives 10energy but 1 or 2 +5 energy mods on it.

Skills:
1. Spike Trap [E]
2. Barbed Trap
3. Flame Trap
4. Dust Trap
5. Resolve [Mesmer Skill]
6. Whirling Defense/A spirit
7. Troll Unguent
8. Rez Sig

This build is good for PvP not for PvE.

im an R/N using Blood is Power as well, but R/mo will do fine as they have rebirth which is pretty good in UW.

for you, as a starter i would go:

Dust Trap
Flame Trap
Barbed Trap
Serpents Quickness
Quickening Zephyr/Energizing winds (ask what your team needs)
Whirling defense
Rebirth
Troll unguent

If you have Spike trap, put it in for troll.

For solo trapping look for the thread R/Me farming tell me its possible (or some title like that) I posted a long post there for solo trapping elona reach (the minos and burrowers) and ettins.

for points: 14+ wilderness
12+ expertise (to make your traps ~50% cheaper)
put the leftover points in markmanship/beastmastery (if you are going to take Beast mastery spirits)

Equipment: find yourself a nice staff and put on some sort of energy head!, this will get u +11-15 energy, or take a nice focus.

This build focuses on the trapping, so not a real pulling build. Whirl defense is there so u can pull, and so you can trap in enemy range!

u should have monk as a second for rebirth if accident happens and ur the only one alive. as for points and skills

wilderness survival. 16 (12+1+3)
Expertise. 15 (12+3)
beastmastery. rest of ur points + superior rune
-BM is only when ur using related skills
skills.

dust
barb
flame
spike
troll
SQ/pulling skill of ur choice
QZ/winnowing/EW/EoE
rebirth

these skills are pretty standard. lay traps until QZ drop, puller pulls and everything should die at once (u need a good puller, it isnt about running there and getting monsters to follow u. u need to get all the monster in ONE GROUP, or ur trip might end right there) for coldfire nights put spirits far off, and lay traps in their path. DONT AGGRO THEM or they wont walk into ur traps and ur group will have to offensive traps them. If its ur first time find someone who knows the path since theres no map down there.
